Future Development
During the past few years, downtown Ottawa has seen major economic growth with the opening of many unique shops and restaurants. While even more shops and restaurants are planning to open in 2018 in addition to millions of dollars of major building renovation and new construction, the City of Ottawa is beginning to turn its attention to its Illinois Riverfront adjacent to the downtown.
During 2017, Ottawa fine-tuned its Riverfront development plans. In 2018, Ottawa will actively begin to seek Riverfront development partners.
