At the America In Bloom (AIB) National Symposium held in Holliston, MA earlier this Fall, the City of Ottawa was named the AIB national champion in its population category.  This is the second time Ottawa has won this national award – also doing so in 2014.  In addition, Ottawa won the national competition across all population categories in the “Heritage Preservation” category.

The America In Bloom organization annually sponsors a national competition which pits cities all across America of similar size in friendly competition.  Two AIB judges visit each community for two full days to judge the communities on the categories of Floral Displays, Landscaped Areas, Urban Forestry, Environmental Efforts, Heritage Preservation, and Overall Impression.
